Stage Set for Castrol Goal Championship KSA

The competition has just got intense with football teams in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia all set to battle it out for the Castrol Goal Championship that kicked off yesterday.

The organising committee of the 5-a side tournament announced the compilation of the final list of teams competing for the Championship.

The tournament will be held on March 4,5 and 11 at Al-Sahaf Football Field (Barcelona Academy), North of Riyadh – Abo Bakr Al-Sadeeq Road.

According to the rules, each squad will have 8 players who will be divided in different groups for the championship in Riyadh. The qualifying rounds of the Castrol Goal Championship will see forty teams, where each team plays at least three matches. Through a knock out system four teams would then either qualify or advance for the final tournament to be held in Dubai or there will be further playoffs depending on their position in the group.

The grand prize of the Castrol Goal Championship is a fully paid trip for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, which would be awarded to the winners of the sporting event.
